A clean environment for the sow

With the IC-W+ system, the incoming fresh air flows directly to the place where it is needed, close to the sow's nose. What could be more efficient and better for the sow. The ventilation standards for minimum and maximum ventilation are about 30 % lower than with ceiling ventilation.

Conditioning of the incoming air

There is an exchange of heat between the concrete floor and the incoming air. The air is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter. Variations in the temperature outdoors over the 24-hour period are also levelled out. Preheating may be necessary in cold climates.

Low infection risk

Slurry trays are made of synthetic material and can therefore be cleaned much more effectively than the floor of a concrete pit. This makes the risk of infection much lower. The water duct also keeps the annoyance caused by flies to a minimum.

Ammonia emissions 65 % lower

The use of the slurry tray reduces the emission of ammonia from 8.3 kg to 2.9 kg NH3 per sow per year by making the emitting surface under the slats smaller. The emission of odour is also lower.
